Andy Roddick Lashes Out Against Tennis Analysts In Post-Match Interview

Andy Roddick pulled no punches in an interview with Chris Fowler after his first-round victory at the U.S. Open, saying the job of tennis analyst is “the easiest job in the world,” one that “doesn’t take much thought.”

Ryan Braun’s Epic Faceplant Amused Reggie Miller

Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun cost himself an inside-the-park homer Wednesday night when he tripped rounding third base and crashed into the ground — which left former NBA star Reggie Miller very entertained.

This Photo of Late NHLer Wade Belak With His Daughter Will Melt, And Break, Your Heart

Wade Belak, a former NHL enforcer who retired earlier this year to pursue a career in broadcasting, was found dead in Toronto today. He was 35. The Toronto Sun reported Belak hanged himself. Belak’s is the latest tragedy to befall the NHL this year, following the deaths of the Rangers’ Derek Boogaard and the Jets’ Rick Rypien. When there are so many tragedies in such a short time, it can be easy to forget each of these guys was, well, a person, with his own story and life. The picture of Belak with his young daughter above, though, brings that sharply into focus. The perception of him certainly wasn’t that of a guy who’s take his own life. Looking at that photo, we can see why not. RIP. [h/t Katie Baker, Photo via

The “Boom Goes The Dynamite” Guy Now Has A Friend To Live With Him In Internet Hell For Eternity

This is Ortis Deley, a British TV presenter. Ortis had a bit of trouble during this telecast of the 2011 World Track and Field Championships.

When we say “trouble,” here’s what we mean: lots of issues with the teleprompter, and forgetting the names of the people he’s sitting next to. It’s pretty much the British version of “Boom Goes the Dynamite,” the famous video of a Ball State University student crashing and burning during a sportscast.

Rumor Has It Terrelle Pryor Bombed His Wonderlic…But Not Everyone’s Buying It (UPDATE)

Former Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor sure has taken a lot of heat in 2011. It started with the memorabilia-selling affair, which first got him suspended, and eventually just led to the end of his Ohio State career (after being ripped plenty by those who thought he was primarily responsible for ending the tenure of hugely successful Ohio State coach Jim Tressel). It continued with his entry into the NFL…and now, continues further with a report on some of Pryor’s pre-draft preparations.

High School Footballers Penalized For Honoring Deceased Friend. Really.

On August 22, Dom Wilgus, a high school junior-to-be from Ohio, died in a car accident. Among the many devastated at such a young life getting taken away were two football-playing friends of Wilgus’ at Louisville (Oh.) High. One of them, Alex Schooley, scored a late touchdown in Louisville’s season opener on Friday, putting the team ahead 26-24. Schooley and teammate Gavin Lovejoy celebrated the score by pointing at the sky in honor of their deceased friend, a classy, poignant gesture…that earned them an excessive celebration penalty.

A Florida Linebacker Chronicles His Terrifying Battle With A Cockroach

Even by the absurd standards of Florida football recruiting, Jelani Jenkins was a big get. Rivals ranked the linebacker as the 10th-best player in the country in the high school class of 2009, and after redshirting that season, Jenkins came on strong in 2010 (albeit on an unusually weak Gators team) to post the second-most tackles on the squad. He’s well on his way to living up to the immense promise he showed coming in, and should be a force to be reckoned with on the field in 2011.

And not a word of that means cockroaches can’t freak him out.
