Nasty crash during stage 9 on sunday

Monday is a day off at the Tour de France — I think there’s a screening of The Triplets of Bellville. Colombia’s Rigoberto Uran won Sunday’s Stage 9; Germany’s Marcel Kittel has won three of the stages, and Britain’s Chris Froome wears the yellow jersey.

There were not one, but two broken collarbones — the one below featuring Richie Porte, who lost it on this treacherous curve, fracturing his collarbone and pelvis. He took out Daniel Martin in the crash (who got back up and continued the race). Britain’s Geraint Thomas crashed out of the race in a separate incident, breaking a collarbone.
