You might not have heard about it, since, well, it’s a second-tier tournament and second-tier tournaments don’t get a lot of attention, but a pretty significant development in tennis happened over the weekend: Rafael Nadal got his most impressive wins yet since returning to competitive tennis from ongoing knee issues. Even better, he then got to celebrate in style.

Maybe Tiger Woods isn’t at his peak anymore, but he still commands a crowd unlike anyone else in the golf world. People like Serena Williams turn out to see him. And when people turn out to see him, they want visual documentation that they saw him. The problem: the golf world isn’t so keen on letting them have it.

At her peak in 2011, Canadian tennis player Rebecca Marino was ranked No. 38 in the world and made it to the third round of the French Open. But earlier today, she released a statement announcing her retirement from the game.

Gael Monfils is arguably the best athlete in tennis today, or ever. It’s cliche to say that he could’ve been a star in any sport, but like, seriously, you’re telling me he couldn’t have been a long jumper or sprinter or shooting guard or goalkeeper or gymnast or acrobat or wide receiver or crocodile hunter or anything he put his mind to! Monfils always slides like this, even on hard courts, but holy ESCARGOT sliding at full-sprint into a fully-extended, spaghetti-armed tweener is probably the craziest shot I’ve ever seen in tennis. Stay healthy, you damn freak.
