Dan Abrams is a Legal Analyst for ABC News and Founder of the Abrams Media Network.
Dan was the General Manager of MSNBC, where under his leadership ratings grew by 62% and the network was branded “The Place for Politics.” In the four years prior to serving as manager, Dan Abrams hosted “The Abrams Report,” a nightly legal affairs program, and later “Verdict with Dan Abrams,” both on MSNBC. He served as the Chief Legal Analyst for NBC News and MSNBC before taking his position at ABC in March 2011.
In the past two years the websites that form the Abrams Media Network have made it one of the nation’s most successful and widely read digital media conglomerates. It includes: Mediaite.com, fashion and style site Styleite.com, Geekosystem.com for tech lovers and Sportsgrid.com. Sportsgrid.com is the newest addition to the Abrams Media Network, and was launched in May of 2010. In addition to covering sports media and offering original opinion content, Sportsgrid.com features a Power Grid that pools TV ratings, web traffic, Twitter followers, and on-field performances from players and coaches. Together the Abrams Media Network sites are viewed by over 7 million unique visitors per month. Dan also runs digital media strategy firm Abrams Research, which advises multinational corporations, not-for-profits, and government agencies on their social media strategies.
In addition to his business and television accomplishments, Dan is a Columbia University Law grad and prolific writer. His work has appeared in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, The American Lawyer, and the Yale Law & Policy Review, among many others. He has also written for online media outlets including the Huffington Post, the Daily Beast and, of course, Mediaite. Dan also pens the “Your Attorney On Call” column for Men’s Health magazine, and has hosted “Chasing Justice with Dan Abrams,” on The Discovery Channel for two consecutive seasons.
