Kid Throws No-Hitter At Little League World Series, Does Not Enjoy Team’s Own Celebration

With his team facing elimination at the Little League World Series, Will Lucas took the mound for Connecticut, hoping to pitch his team further into the tournament. And he did more than that, recording the first six-inning no-hitter at the Little League World Series since 2008, and the 35th overall in the history of the tournament, as Connecticut beat Indiana 4-0.

For a 12-year-old kid who just pitched the game of his life, on national television no less, Lucas seemed pretty calm (which ESPN also noticed). Lucas struck out 13, and after recording the final out (via strikeout), his Connecticut teammates stormed the mound and the celebration was on. Unfortunately, the player that might have enjoyed that celebration the least was Will Lucas himself.

At about the 1:15 mark below, Lucas is asked by Jenn Brown about being on the bottom of a dogpile. Lucas didn’t seem to thrilled by his teammates’ choice of celebration.

The highlights of Lucas’ gem of a pitching performance, and his interview with Brown, can be seen below.
