Which Players, Pro And College, Have The Best Week 6 Fantasy Football Matchups?

Peyton Manning Broncos

Each week on Wednesday, we will take a look at each position and the opposing teams matchup to find the best value plays for the week. Another disclaimer that cost me a lot of money on Sunday, I had a loaded lineup this week and felt great about my picks. Then the news of Calvin Johnson being out came down, and I reshuffled all my lineups to get Reggie Bush and Ryan Broyles, while taking out Alshon Jeffrey and Terrance Williams.  Word to the wise, don’t change your lineups unless one of your guys is hurt.

Week 6 – Best QB (Fantasy Feud Salary) vs. Worst Defense

TOP SHELF

1)Peyton Manning $210,000 vs. JAX (Worst team in the league, Denver largest favorite in NFL history)

2)Tony Romo $178,400 vs WAS (Redskins D allowed 29/39/27 to opposing QB before facing Matt Flynn)

3)Robert Griffin $143,900 vs DAL (Dallas D allowed 400 passing yards 3 times)

4)Andrew Luck $160,900 vs SD(Chargers D ranked last in Def. Passer Rating)

VALUE

1)Alex Smith $139,300 vs. OAK (Raiders allow 72% completion rate falling into KC’s strengths)

2)Matt Schaub $103,300 vs. STL (Rams allow 66% comp. rate, 41% 1st down conv, 106 Passer Rating)

3)Mike Glennon $79,800 vs PHI (Eagles allowed 4 out of 5 QB over 300 passing yards, 2 TD)

Recommended strategy for QB-$250,000-300,000 allocation, 40-60 fantasy points

Manning w/ Schaub or Glennon

Romo w/ Smith or Griffin

Griffin w/ Luck or Smith

Luck w/ Smith

Week 6 – Best RB (Fantasy Feud Salary) vs. Worst Defense

TOP SHELF

1)Arian Foster $130,500 vs STL(Rams defense allowed Gore and Murray to run all over them)

2)DeMarco Murray $119,900 vs WAS(Perfect storm as Redskins have been shredded by receiving backs)

3)Adrian Peterson $170,300 vs CAR(Panthers Run D is susceptible, can’t throw on them)

4)Jamaal Charles $160,700 vs OAK(Raiders solid vs. run, but offense runs through Charles)

VALUE

1)Pierre Thomas $89,000 vs NE

2)Marcel Reese $44,600 vs KC

3)Willis Mcgahee $69,200 vs DET

4)Danny Woodhead $104,600 vs IND

5)Brandon Bolden $47,700 vs NO

6)Andre Ellington $71,700 vs SF

7)Zac Stacy $72,300 vs HOU

Recommended strategy for RB-$200,000-250,000 allocation, 30-45 fantasy points

Foster/Murray – Best tandem of the week

Peterson/Charles with Woodhead/P Thomas/Mcgahee

Foster with Ellington/Stacy/P Thomas/Mcgahee

Murray/Woodhead

Week 6 – Best WR vs. Worst Defense

TOP SHELF

1)Reggie Wayne $112,600 vs SD

2)Vincent Jackson $100,800 vs PHI

3)AJ Green $132,600 vs BUF

4)Torrey Smith $119,400 vs GB

5)Andre Johnson $119,700 vs STL

6)Antonio Brown $118,600 vs NYJ

VALUE

1)Vincent Brown $63,200 vs IND

2)Ted Ginn $60,700 vs MIN

3)Jason Avant $61,700 vs TB

4)Keenan Allen $74,100 vs IND

5)DeAndre Hopkins $77,400 vs STL

Recommended strategy for WR – $200,000-$250,000 allocation, 30-45 fantasy points

I would pair one of the Top Shelf WR with a Value WR, then take a Value WR in your FLEX

Week 6 – Best TE vs Worst Defense

TOP SHELF

1)Julius Thomas $133,100 vs JAX

2)Jason Witten $103,000 vs WAS

3)Vernon Davis $87,400 vs ARI

VALUE

1)Garrett Graham $69,200 vs STL

2)Sean McGrath $60,100 vs OAK

3)Jordan Reed $70,700 vs DAL

Recommended strategy for TE-$50,000-$100,000 allocation.

G Graham-All in with him this week

Reed-J Thomas had a monster game vs DAL last week

Week 6 – Best D/ST vs. Worst D/ST (Pts Allowed)

TOP SHELF

1)Denver $87,900 vs JAX

2)Cincinnati $80,800 vs BUF

VALUE

1)Houston $54,600 vs STL

2)Detroit $52,800 vs CLE

Strategy for D/ST

Look for matchups vs. bad opposing QBs.

The two biggest constants you can measure for a D/ST are points allowed and sacks, with interceptions/fumble recoveries a byproduct of the pressure applied on the quarterback who is most likely to make mistakes. The opposing QB rating is the strongest indicator of this.

D/ST Projection

20 pts (4 sacks, 2 fumble recoveries, 2 interceptions, 1 TD, 13 pts or less allowed)

15-19 pts (4 sacks, 1 fumble recovery, 2 interceptions, 1 TD, 20 pts or less allowed)

10-14 pts (3 sacks, 1 fumble recover, 1 interception, 0 TD, 20 pts or less allowed)

Week 5 Lock and Load Lineup Results-If you used the lineup I recommended on Friday, you should have won most of your head to head and 50/50 double up contests as 142.9 is a solid score on Fantasy Feud.

Week 5 Beat Adam Ronis Challenge Winner

Congrats to “mightymenace” who put up 211.66 points and will move on to play the 1st place winners in Week 12 for a shot to move on and play vs. RotoExperts’ Adam Ronis for $1,000 Week 13.

Here is the winning lineup-It was an interesting strategy of taking two top five QBs, two sleeper RBs who catch the balls, two top 10 WRs, a D/ST that no one took, and hit on both FLEX spots with the best WR bargains of the day.  No one came close to this score on Fantasy Feud.

COLLEGE FANTASY FOOTBALL – VALUE PLAYS ON FANTASY FEUD

QB

Trevone Boykin, TCU ($91,600) – Boykin has put up at least 17 fantasy points in his last 4 games since assuming the starting job with Casey Paschell went down. Now he gets a Kansas defense that ranks 107th against the pass.  Throw in that TCU is a 24 point favorite and the implied score is 34-10.

Pete Thomas ($80,400) / Brandon Mitchell ($90,000), NC State –There is an outside chance that Mitchell does not start against Syracuse this week as right now he is listed as questionable. Keep an eye on the injury report as both QB’s are great options here against a terrible Orangemen pass defense ranked 123rd and that Taji Boyd carved up last week. Thomas has been solid the past 3 games getting 17/20/20 fantasy points. The line is NC State -5 with a total of 54 leaving us a nice implied score of 29-25.

Nick Marshall, Auburn ($125,700) – Normally I don’t take a QB over $100,000 for the bargain bin, but there is so much value on Marshall this week going against Western Carolina that he is worth a mention.  The line on the game is Auburn favored by 43 points and there is a risk that Marshall only play one half if it’s a blowout, but the upside is so high you have to take him.

RB

Cameron Artis-Payne, Auburn ($44,600) – CAP is the #2 RB on Auburn, but many times it’s the backup who gets the share of the workload in a mismatch and that is what we have this week with Auburn taking on Western Carolina. Look for the Tigers to keep Tre Mason fresh and run CAP this week.

BJ Catalon, TCU ($63,500) – This is a complete mismatch with TCU vs. Kansas. Catalon is somewhat the lead back for the Horned Frogs, as Waymon James is more of an afterthought these days, but I would expect both backs to get carries this week.

Paul Perkins, UCLA ($102,000) – Perkins is going to be the hottest value play this week with Jordan James being injured and UCLA getting Cal. There is a strong contention of folks who think Perkins is the better running back and his coming out party will be this week.

WR

Sammie Coates, Auburn ($62,700) – Coates hasn’t done a lot this year, but the matchup against Western Carolina suggests the Tigers should put up at least 50 points, and some of those touchdowns could go to Coates.

Torell Miller, Kansas State ($30,400) – This is a speculative play and only contingent if both Tyler Lockett and Tramaine Thompson are ruled out. There is a strong chance this could happen making Miller the #1 WR option for the Wildcats in a projected shootout with Baylor. With QB Sams now at the helm, this is a play that could turn up giving monster ROI.

Jordan Payton, UCLA ($39,700) – Payton is coming off a nice performance last week with 14 fantasy points, and they get to feast on one of the worst defenses in the country, California this week.

TE

Arthur Lynch, Georgia ($51,000) – I’m throwing in a couple of tight ends this week who I feel can give nice return of at least 10 points.  The Bulldogs WR corp has been decimated with injuries, so now Lynch becomes the recipient of a lot of targets in a game that should have a lot of points.

Evan Engram, Miss ($48,300) – Texas A&M has one of the worst defenses against the tight end and Engram is a consistent target for Bo Wallace.  4 catches, 50 yards, with a strong chance for a touchdown bodes well.
