Golfer Hits Hole-In-One, Wins His Weight In Ham

On Friday, Scottish golfer Elliot Saltman aced the par-3 third at the Madrid Masters. His prize for this impressive feat?

Ham.

238 pounds of it.

Heavily salted ham is a Spanish delicacy, and “your bodyweight in ham” is apparently the prize on the third hole at the Madrid Masters. Prizes on other holes include a car and a watch, which would be cooler than ham, but I digress. Saltman ended the first day 11 strokes behind the leader, but the ham he won is reportedly worth $10,722.

“I’ve been trying to lose weight, but now I’m thinking I should have just kept it,” the appropriately-named Saltman said.

Probably going to be tough to lose the weight, Saltman. You know, because you won 238 pounds of ham.
