Drunk Man Criminal Mastermind Arrested For Stealing Sand At The Masters Using A Solo Cup

I suppose even full grown adults who normally make good decisions can have a lapse of judgement every now and then — how else to explain this 40-year-old man who was arrested for stealing sand from a sand trap at the site of the PGA Masters? I mean, besides the obvious explanation, which is that dude was hammered. And that some people are just really into collecting inappropriate souvenirs.

The Augusta Chronicle reports on the perfect crime:

Richmond County sheriff’s Capt. Scott Gay said Clayton Price Baker, of Ohio, slipped under the ropes following the tournament and attempted to put the sand in his cup.

After a short foot chase by Augusta National security and sheriff’s deputies, Baker was apprehended and charged with disorderly conduct.

Gay said Baker, who was drinking heavily at the time of the incident, was unsuccessful at getting any of the sand in his cup.

Oh, sad face. He couldn’t get any of the sand into his Solo cup. In fairness, maybe it was the lack of proper sand-collecting tools? Perhaps things would have gone differently if he had had one of these.
