Phil Mickelson’s Ball Hits Tree, Ends Up In Man’s Shorts

People get hit with golf balls on the PGA Tour all the time, generally they get a signed ball or glove for their trouble and the golfer hopes the spectator isn’t injured. Today was just a little bit different at the Northern Trust Open at Riviera Country Club.
In this case, Phil Mickelson pulled his tee shot left at the 15th hole and hit a tree. When the ball ricocheted back, it hit a spectator in the leg, and at the urging of the crowd he remained motionless to ensure Phil didn’t get a penalty stroke. The ball had ended up in (or possibly on) the man’s shorts.
The spectator did get a signed glove for his trouble, although he nearly disappeared before Phil could get it to him.
