Pro Golfer Celebrates Win By Jumping In Pond, Breaks Shin
Golfers need to stop jumping in ponds. Back in April, the LPGA’s Stacy Lewis won the Kraft Nabisco championship. Since tradition calls for the tournament’s winner (and anyone she invites) to jump in a nearby pond, she did just that. But her mom, who had been training for a marathon at the time, didn’t jump far enough, and ended up breaking her fibula in a shallow part of the water.
After winning the French Open on Sunday, 42-year-old Thomas Levet decided to take a similar plunge with his manager. The result? A broken shin. He’ll be out of commission for six weeks, and will miss the British Open.
The fateful jump occurs at the 1 minute mark.
