What The Hell Is Going On In This Tiger Woods/Shaq PGA Tour 13 Commercial?

What you’ll see below isn’t the first weird commercial you’ve ever seen Tiger Woods do. You might remember that Japanese heat rub ad he did last year. Surely you remember (and are maybe still a little freaked out by) Zombie Earl Woods from a year before that. But the one below, released today to promote Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13, might be the weirdest yet. It features Tiger and Shaq, competing against one another in the game. Normal. But the martial arts motif:

… Less normal. But weirdness is always appreciated around these parts, and this is the weirdest commercial we can remember Tiger doing. Sure, it’s not like the idea of foreign-language movies with obviously-off English overdubbing is new, but seeing Tiger Woods as the actor? That’s something different. Shaq’s proven himself to be a little more open to this kind of weirdness, so seeing him there is a little less jarring. What is jarring? Seeing him next to Tiger and being reminded of how huge the guy is. Oh, and the fact that all this martial arts/bad movie parody stuff is ultimately about… a golf video game.
