Video: Andy Murray’s Crowd-Pleasing Tweener Shot Not So Pleasing To John McEnroe

It’s a seemingly rough life at the All England Club these days. Officials condemning players for grunting too loudly … Serena Williams getting banished to Court 2 … now, Wimbledon darling Andy Murray is getting called out (by John McEnroe, no less) for hitting a flashy, between-the-legs shot during his third-round match against Ivan Ljubicic — much to the delight of the Centre Court crowd.

According to McEnroe, who has been calling matches for the BBC, glitzy displays like Murray’s can only serve to add fuel to an opponent’s fire.

We’ll just have to take his word for it, because if there’s one thing Johnny Mac understands, it’s how to get under a player’s skin. Watch below:

We just can’t help but wonder: where was McEnroe to talk about upstaging opponents when this happened?
