Bobby Knight To ESPN Producer: You Can Say “Chicken S%#@” On TV Once

Apparently, in Bobby Knight’s world, you can say “chicken shit” at least once on live TV.

After the former coach and ESPN college basketball analyst bemoaned Baylor’s defense rather explicitly on College Gameday earlier today, Jay Bilas tweeted the following: “Producer to Bob Knight: “You can’t say chicken @#$% on live TV.” Knight: “You can once.”"

We’re not entirely sure whether Bilas was referring to an actual conversation he overheard, or if he was merely having fun at his expense, but we wouldn’t be surprised either way (note: the tweet has since been deleted by Bilas, so we’re guessing it was an actual conversation).

Despite Knight’s on-air profanity, and the fact that Rece Davis apologized for it after a commercial break, other ESPN employees seemed to think it was pretty funny. Knight’s fellow Gameday analysts laughed when the bomb was dropped during the original segment, and Erin Andrews, who does sideline work for some of the games Knight calls, found it funny as well.

Andrews tweeted: “And thats why I love Coach Bobby Knight..best quote of the yr…crying, I’m laughing so hard!” (Andrews’ tweet has since been deleted as well).
