Tips Box: Cape Town Stadium Not Exactly A Marvel Of Architecture

Thanks to another helpful tipster at the World Cup, who sent in some pictures of Cape Town Stadium, which doesn’t look like it was finished in time for the tournament.

has there been anything written about the cape town stadium? Its not quite complete. there are wooden steps in the nosebleed sections (where we are) and a fair amount of scaffolding still up.

Also there’s portopotty / mobile bathrooms. There are actual toilets inside but they’re not actually built into the stadium, if that makes sense. They’re in like construction trailers.

Also, with the rain, the stadium is even more empty now during Italy Paraguay it seems like it might be sponsor seats or something but you’d think there’d be a no empty seat policy of something.

Womp womp. What’s the deal with these empty seats, FIFA?
