Poor Carlos Boozer’s Own Son Cheered For The Heat Today

During today’s 97-93 Heat win over the Bulls, ABC cameras panned to Carmani Boozer, oldest son of Bulls forward Carlos Boozer. It was so reporter Lisa Salters could tell a heartwarming story: Carmani, who early in his life suffered from severe sickle cell anemia, has since been fully cured of the disease (thanks to his twin younger brothers) and is living a normal life. It’s a great story…but thanks to what Carmani was saying when the camera was fixed on him, the focus quickly shifted:

Yes, the son of the Bulls’ Carlos Boozer was cheering for…the Heat. And Jeff Van Gundy was none too happy about it. And if he’s so indignant, what will Carlos think when he inevitably sees the video somewhere? Because you know he’s going to. And that is one serious guilt trip he could lay on the son whose life he and his wife worked tirelessly to save if he so desires. But hey, if Carmani’s going to so openly cheer against his dad’s team, maybe guilt trips won’t work on him anyway. You do you, Carmani, you do you. (Even if it makes us feel kind of bad for your dad.)
