Carmelo Anthony And Chris Bosh Were On Law & Order: SVU Last Night

Things besides baseball happened last night. If it didn’t seem that way to you, believe us: we were right there with you. But it’s true. Chief among those happenings, at least in the sports world: Chris Bosh and Carmelo Anthony made appearances on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. And while we can’t say we actually saw the episode (again, baseballbaseballbaseballbaseballbaseballbaseball), Law & Order: SVU waits for no man:

So Bosh and Anthony flexed their acting muscle as a nation got reacquainted with the fact that yes, baseball can be as thrilling a game as any. Luckily, Robert Littal of Black Sports Online is here to document Bosh’s and Anthony’s forays into the entertainment world, as well as to post the video of them you see above, so you can decide for yourself how they did. It doesn’t seem as though they were central to the plot – they just served to intoduce a youth basketball coach (played by Dan Lauria of Wonder Years fame) who, while highly successful on the court, stands accused of doing some very bad things.

How’d Bosh and Anthony do? Littal, for his part, wasn’t overly impressed (“I don’t think Bosh and Melo will be up for any Emmys any time soon”), and sure, they’re not asked to do much, but…they’re not bad, are they? They’re serviceable in doing what they’re there to do, and especially considering their novice actors, that’s far from a bad thing. We’re not holding our breath for a Daniel Day-Lewis career from either of these guys, but we’re also not expecting Day-Lewis to be among the NBA’s scoring leaders at any point. Overall: not too bad, guys, not too bad.
