Win An Olympic Race, Get A Baby Cheetah Named After You

Taking home gold from the Olympics is a dream for many athletes. To say you not only accomplished something on the world’s biggest stage, but also led your country to victory, has to be rather rewarding.

But screw all that, getting a cheetah named after you is way cooler.

According to Terra.com, the National Zoo in Washington, D.C. is going to name two baby cheetahs after the two top American sprinters in the upcoming games.

The three-month-old cubs will be named, in relation to their fast reputation, after the top men and women finishers in the 100-meters sprint, adding extra pressure to favorites Tyson Gay and Allyson Felix.

If I’m Tyson Gay or Allyson Felix, I’m all about winning this race now. You can just walk around and be like, “Hey, do you wanna go visit my baby cheetah-likeness at the zoo with me?” I mean, how many people can actually ask that question? A gold medal is cool, but it just sits in your trophy room, or in your safe, or wherever you decide to keep it. A baby freakin’ cheetah just rolls around the zoo looking all cute until it grows up into a fully grown cheetah which is one of the coolest animals out there. Do more children in America look up to gold medal winning Olympians or the bad-ass animals they see at the zoo? I rest my case.
