Doc Rivers’ Son Dons Dad’s Jersey, Flushes Windmill Dunk
Sure, we refer to him as “Doc Rivers’ son” in the headline above, but Austin Rivers has the sort of potential where one day writers may well be saying things like, “Doc Rivers is ‘Austin Rivers’ father’ now, and he’s just fine with that.” Austin is considered the top senior high school basketball prospect in the country, he was the consensus national player of the year this year, and next year, he’s headed to Duke.
Clearly, this is someone who, even if he didn’t have a well-known father, would still be making quite the name for himself. But Austin Rivers isn’t running from his name. Last night, at McDonald’s All-America game’s dunk contest, Rivers took his warm-=up jersey off before his attempt…and revealed this jersey underneath. Then, he did this:
Well, Austin certainly appears to have the athleticism to succeed on the next level and beyond, and we’re eager to see what he can do next year…even though it’ll be for Duke.
