Boxing Promoter Don King Stopped With Ammunition In Airport
Don King’s never been one to shy away from the headlines. It didn’t take much to get him there today, as the boxing promoter was stopped while traveling through Cleveland’s Hopkins International Airport for possession of ammunition in his carry-on baggage.
The 79-year-old was waylaid by Transportation Safety Administration officers Sunday night, who found rounds for .38-caliber and .357 caliber firearms in his bag. There was no word as to whether any firearms were in his possession at the time.
King, who was in town to attend the funeral of his wife, Henrietta, had the ammunition confiscated and continued on his trip to Florida.
There is no word as to whether or not King was cited or fined. If he wasn’t, it shouldn’t be a surprise. After all, we’re talking about a man who has gotten away with murder quite literally…twice! The incident though does make the picture on his Wikipedia page in which he’s toting a bazooka much more apropos.
