Watch The ESPYs Opening Monologue And Decide If It’s Funny
Comedian Rob Riggle is hosting the ESPYs tonight, so you know what that means: jokes. Lots of ‘em. He has Tim Tebow-like accuracy with his roasting, however, so don’t be surprised if you groan as much as you laugh.
The problem with trying to stuff a monologue full of jokes about an entire year of sports is that most of these things are way, way overdone already. Oh, Britney Griner is tall? Jeremy Lin is smart? Anthony Davis has a unibrow? Thanks Rob Riggle.
That being said, his Gronk impression is about as accurate as can be, and yeah, racing is a easy target, but it’s a bullseye every time.
Also: Does ESPN have a serious media-boner for Shaun White or what? They cut to him more than anybody else in this clip. “Quick — does Shaun White think this is funny?!?!?!” was the question nobody was asking, but ESPN answered it anyway.
So, what do you think? Funny, or no? Let us know your thoughts, because I’m too busy trying to figure out how to copyright “Kobe Beef And Nashed Potatoes” before anyone else does to decide.
