Floyd Mayweather Charged With Grand Larceny, Accused Of Punching Woman In Head

Floyd Mayweather Jr. is the boxer we all love to hate. But before this week, it was a cutesy, “Chad Ochocinco” type of hate. Before this week, it was about stuff like walking out to the ring in a sombrero or tweeting out a picture with a bunch of money – you know, the things that make you say, “That guy should really focus on his job more. But oh, how it is cheeky.”

But that was before this week. That was before he dropped a bunch of culturally-misguided stereotypes about Manny Pacquiao on UStream and became public enemy number one, well, everywhere.

Now you might be able to add another reason to why you don’t like Pretty Boy Floyd. This morning, he was charged with grand larceny against his ex-girlfriend Josie Harris. He is accused of taking personal items from Ms. Harris’ purse, but the larceny actually stems from a domestic dispute the two had. Here’s where it gets ugly.

Mayweather, who has three children with Harris, reportedly “let himself in” to her home and started to search through her possessions. According to Harris, he accused her of dating another man (things ex-girlfriends are prone to do), then proceeded to punch her in the head, all the while threatening the children and her new hubby.

“He would ‘have me and my guy friend taken care of,’” she said Mayweather told her.

After Las Vegas police officers took Mayweather away from the house at around 3 a.m., he decided that he wasn’t finished and came back again hours later. Harris said she told the kids to dial 911, which prompted the “father of the year” to threaten to “beat them the same way.”

Harris, who was treated at Southern Hills Hospital for minor injuries, has filed a temporary protection order. Mayweather however, was not charged for domestic violence.

Police have not arrested Mayweather for domestic violence because the charge is a misdemeanor and the alleged crime happened more than 24 hours after the arrest.

UPDATE: 50 Cent weighs in.
