Glenn Davis Talks About Glen Davis Talking About Glen Davis

The Celtics’ Glen Davis faces an uncertain future. He’s a free agent, but the NBA’s unresolved labor situation means he’s unlikely to know for a while where he’ll play next year. But while he’s not sure if he’ll still be sporting a Boston uniform for whichever part of the 2011-12 season actually happens, he is sure of one thing: wherever he is, he’s gotta be Glen Davis:

“I just want to make sure I’m Glen Davis wherever I’m at. I think I can be Glen Davis wherever. It just depends on the system, the people around the system, who’s going to let Glen Davis be Glen Davis, not make Glen Davis something they think he should be.”

Glenn Davis gets where Glen Davis is coming from here. Only Glen(n) Davises can truly understand the importance of being not only Glen(n) Davis, but the Glen(n) Davis you think you should be. Glenn Davis is so aware of the importance of this that strangely enough, Glenn Davis said the exact line you see block-quoted above when Glenn Davis interviewed for this job. (The higher-ups were impressed with Glenn Davis’ strong will.) Glenn Davis has a few suggestions to make Glen Davis’ worldview even more ironclad, however:

“[Glen Davis] just want[s] to make sure [Glen Davis is] Glen Davis wherever [Glen Davis is] at. [Glen Davis] think[s Glen Davis] can be Glen Davis wherever. It just depends on the system, the people around the system, who’s going to let Glen Davis be Glen Davis, not make Glen Davis something they think he should be.”

Now that’s got Glenn Davis’ full approval.
