Here’s That Budweiser Clydesdale Commercial That Made You Cry

I loved it. Short, simple, sweet.

Horses, like other domestic animals, form bonds with (kind) humans. But by some they’re viewed simply as beasts of burden, sometimes abused in the quest of winning races and ribbons, and after years of serving humans, dumped by irresponsible breeders and owners to ensure a brutal end at a foreign slaughter plant.

As we have with dog and cats, I hope America can channel their compassion for these loyal animals into legitimate efforts to end the unnecessary cruelty many are victims of.

One of the things that is so touching about this commercial — you can see the emotions of the trainer as he watches the horse go by . . . he is alternately proud, then sad, then resigned to just missing the horse, after feeling that the horse probably did not see him on the sidelines. But animals are very knowing, and perceptive in ways that humans are not . . . the horse does see him, and of course recognizes him and comes to take care of the man, in a sense – giving him love and validating their bond. It’s a tremendous testament to the love between humans and animals, and I agree with BerksBound: I hope people will start to care more about how these noble animals are treated. They deserve the best care, love and respect for their service to humans.

OMG, did this commercial seriously just make tears stream down my face? I’m stunned here.
