Jeff Van Gundy To Ron Artest: “Say Queensbridge Now, Ron!”
Late in the first half of tonight’s Celtics-Lakers game 5, we almost had a brouhaha on our hands. After Ron Artest fouled Kevin Garnett hard, Rajon Rondo came over to defend his teammate, shoving Artest forcefully off the court.
Technicals were given. Smack was talked. And the internet almost keeled over and died at the prospect of millions of people typing “Ragon rondo artest fight” into Google simultaneously. Alas, a slobberknocker did not materialize.
But Jeff Van Gundy, ever the bald spark plug, added some extra emphasis of his own on the almost-fight, wondering aloud why Artest was not shouting out the name of a certain low-income housing project in this particular instance.
