Lindecision 2012: The Daily Show Chimes In On Jeremy Lin, Time Warner, And MSG

The Daily Show had one of their best bits in awhile when they explored the racial implications of Jeremy Lin’s meteoric rise to Knicks starting point guard and Most Important Person Ever (a distinction that formerly belonged to Tim Tebow). Last night, they took a closer look at the TV implications of Lin’s ascent, and, thankfully, it looks like “Lindecision 2012″ is going to become a running thing.
In the middle of filming the following Aasif Mandvi segment, which was aired last night, the 48-day blackout of MSG (the network that carries the Knicks in New York) on Time Warner Cable was settled, finally bringing Linsanity to some 2 million customers who had previously been blacked out.
Still, there were obvious scars from the MSG/Time Warner battle, and Mandvi went to where the blackout hit the hardest: China(town). Video here.
