Video: Jim Cornelison’s National Anthem Will Give You The Chills

Jim Cornelison does this a lot: at Bears and Blackhawks games, he’ll show up and belt out an absolutely stirring rendition of the national anthem. Today, though, as military personnel, police, and firemen unfurled the American flag and were joined by members of the Bears and Falcons on the tenth anniversary of 9/11, his performance mattered even more than usual.

What a wonderful tribute to all the victims and to our nation. It shows the spirit of the American people, who are one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty, and justice, for all. When we rise as one, we are the most powerful nation on this earth and no terrorist can take that away from us. We are held together by our love of liberty and freedom that we will defend and cherish forever.

Off-key, thin, reedy, forced, too fast, too long holds. Shitehouse. A pity, because it’s a nice tune. I don’t doubt his passion, but that performance was pants.

He has great passion in his voice and a booming powerful voice but I somewhat agree with Music Lover. For me the tempo was just too fast and the first few lines felt a little forced.
