If The Kardashians’ Show Keeps Going Like This, The Booing Of Kris Humphries Might Never End

Kris Humphries has been something of a hot topic this NBA season – mostly because of how much everyone seems to hate him. Polls are calling him the most-disliked player in the league. He’s getting booed mercilessly. Everyone from his coach, Avery Johnson, to Whoopi Goldberg is weighing in on whether such booing is deserved.
We tended to agree with Johnson’s take: did the people booing Humphries even really know why they were doing it? Was booing just taking the place of what they really wanted to do, which was laugh at Humphries for being part of such a crazy spectacle? Either way, while we could understand the booing, it didn’t seem like quite the way to express whatever people are feeling toward Humphries.
That, though, can always change. And the most recent episode of Kourtney & Kim Take New York, the reality (or something) series of which Humphries was a part, has one sequence that might just make those boos about a little more than the whole marriage sham itself. In short…well, the clip makes Humphries look like a jerk. In it, he just won’t let go of wondering whether Kim’s friend Jonathan Cheban is gay. Whether to the camera or to Cheban’s face, it just keeps going. And drags on. And on, some more:
Worth noting: this is a reality show. Meaning: there’s a very good chance what you’re seeing at any given point is not actually reality. If the scenes above played out like that in rea life with no influence from anyone off-camera, we’d be shocked. (Hell, if anything in that entire show ever organically happened we’d hardly believe it.) But whatever it is, it does’t make Humphries look good, and it’s pretty likely nothing in the show will.
And if, in addition to participating in this whole travesty to begin with, the travesty also makes Humphries look like an insensitive buffoon, there’s all the more reason to keep booing. (And whether the show has anything to do with actual reality or not, the perception’s out there.) Clearly, there aren’t many people out there who feel like they need more ammo to hate Kris Humphries, but now, via the show, they’re getting just that. And since he’s the one who signed up for all this to begin with…maybe the booing’s justified after all.
