NBA Analyst Kevin McHale Rapped A Bit Back In His Playing Days (Video)
The list of athletes who’ve done commercials they now regret is a long one, we imagine. How do you think Grant Hill and Larry Bird
feel about this? Hell, Brett Gardner has to be questioning the logic that led him to do this (sadly, the video no longer exists, which kind of says it all), and that’s from this year. And now, as you can see above, current NBA analyst/Hall of Fame player Kevin McHale can join them in ignominy, thanks to an ’80s (it’s always the ’80s, isn’t it?) Converse ad.
McHale, who sensed in the studio they had searched far and wide to embarrass him as much as possible, is truly a masterpiece of discomfort as he awaits whatever archived footage they’ve dug up. Truth be told, though, his role in the commercial isn’t any cheesier than that of fellow stars Magic Johnson, Isiah Thomas, Mark Aguirre, Bernard King, or, once again popping up in a corny commercial, Bird.
And, while clearly embarrassed with the reminder of the ad’s existence, McHale even re-enacted part of the rap in the studio after they showed the clip. Let the record show that Kevin McHale is a man unafraid to laugh at himself. And because it’s important you see this whole ad, video of just that is below.
