LeBron James Threatens To Beat Up Heckler Who Said Mean Thing About His Mom

According to NBC Washington’s Sarah Kogod, LeBron James had a less-than-friendly conversation with a fan during the fourth quarter of the Heat’s blowout win over the Wizards on Saturday. The subject of that conversation? LeBron’s mom.

To be more specific, the fan brought up the long-talked-about-but-in-no-way-substantiated rumor involving Gloria James and LeBron’s former teammate, Delonte West. Naturally, LeBron didn’t respond well to some guy he didn’t know insinuating that his mom slept with a fellow NBA player.

LeBron was waiting alone in the backcourt when fan Bob Moore made a comment to LeBron about Delonte West and LeBron’s mom…According to Moore, LeBron said “The only reason you talk sh!t is because you know I can’t come off the court right now and beat your ass…Also according to Moore, LeBron continued “But if I had a free pass, I’d kick your ass right now…Moore replied “I’m right here baby. Let’s go” before security stepped in.

On her Twitter account, Kogod stated that she doesn’t think it’s acceptable for any athlete to engage a heckling fan in such a way. And, on the surface, she’s right: it’s not a good idea for an athlete to let a fan get under their skin.

But also, these guys aren’t zoo animals. You can’t yell something derogatory about someone’s mom, and expect everything to be hunky-dory. LeBron’s right. If there weren’t other people around, the Wizards fan in question wouldn’t be so yappy towards a man who is 6 foot 8 and 250 pounds. Unless Bob Moore is 6 foot 9, 270 pounds, in which case, why are you spending your time heckling LeBron instead of playing in the NBA, Bob Moore?
