Manchester United’s Ryan Giggs Is The Footballer Who Allegedly Had Affair With Model Imogen Thomas

A few weeks ago, we lamented the fact we’d never know, because of a court injunction, the identity of the soccer player in England who reportedly had an affair with Welsh model Imogen Thomas.

A judge blocked the imminent story detailing the affair and naming the player. The basis for the injunction is that it concerned his private life, which isn’t for public consumption. Luckily for us, that court injunction only applied to Thomas and the press in the United Kingdom.

The Spanish press and other sources named Ryan Giggs as the adulterer in the 7-month affair. He’s one of Manchester United’s all-time most decorated players and he most recently helped the team nearly lock up its record 19th league title.

Then the Daily Mail took this dig at Giggs in an article about an actor who’s devoted to his wife:

Hugh’s devotion to wife Lulu is so strong it is understood he is known to fellow thespians as the Ryan Giggs of the showbusiness world, after the famously family-orientated footballer.

The reality is that this actor, Hugh Bonneville, also had an injunction placed after it was learned that he paid a prostitute to use a sex toy on him. So, I think the cheeky British press confirmed it, in a roundabout way.

You’ve slightly misconstrued that quote.. The actor in question is also alleged to have taken out a “superinjunction ” to cover up a dalliance with a prostitute. The comparison is not to Giggsy’s fideliity but to his horndoggery!!

Not sure why some of these lads get married – if they want a life of night-clubbing, girls and fast cars, why don’t they just do that?! Instead they go down the wife and kids route (which is unfortunate as they are the ones who are the real casualties). Once exposed, their skills as a sportsperson are overshadowed, we only remember the scandal – shame all their years of hard work and training go down the pan!

Imogen is definately no saint and really needs to start having a little self respect and hang around with more worthy men, but here again is the double standard. It takes two to tango and if the alleged footballer named could get a super injunction, why not her?

If the alleged footballer kept his bits where they should be, in his pants and stuck to his marriage vows, he wouldn’t be in this mess in the first place. I think ‘super injunction’ to these immature unworthy men and other like minded idiots means ‘I can do what I like and get away with it, all I have to do is slap a privacy order on the press’.

Footballers seem to have less capacity, intelligence, maturity and humanity for a faithful marriage based on honesty, friendship, respect and love than even showbiz celebs. And don’t tell me that a faithful marriage isn’t possible as most can and do survive with both usually very happy. It just takes effort and discipline on both sides, similar to something called football……

So many moralistic morons on here! As soon as I heard Max Clifford was representing her I knew she was a money-grabber (people keep going on about Giggs’ infidelity – what about sisterhood? Women respecting another woman’s husband and leaving him alone?). Without wanting to be too Neanderthal, rich and famous men have strayed and will always stray (I don’t suppose many ordinary blokes have hundereds of good-looking young women offering themselves on a plate?). It’s none of our business – the media’s fascination shows us up for being nosey ‘rubber-neckers’. Let the Giggs family sort it out.
