The Michelle Beadle Era At ESPN Ended Like This

Well, after much speculation about her future, reports that she was headed to NBC, eventual confirmation of those reports, and some not-so-subtle on-air references to ill-fated romances, Michelle Beadle officially closed out her run at ESPN today, filming her final SportsNation. And there were some nice moments – SportsNation contributors like Matthew Berry, Herm Edwards, and Mark Schlereth paid tribute, as did Cowherd and the staff (a staff that appeared genuinely fond of her).

Why, it was so nice that she even shared a nice moment with Skip Bayless – for whom she Tebowed, saying she wouldn’t have done that for anyone else. It actually sounded at first like Beadle playfully called him a “Tebow whore,” but sadly, we don’t believe she actually did, and instead said “Tebow for.” If she’d walked out the door in Bristol by calling Skip Bayless a Tebow whore, she might be looked at as an American hero.

Instead, she’s looked at as someone who had a fine run at the network, and appeared to achieve her goal of not crying. Hopefully she also had a goal of being fake shot out of a cannon, because that happened today too. Best of luck to her in her next endeavor, and a solid finale from the SportsNation team. See the final sequence below.
