Celtics’ Paul Pierce Falls Into Stands, Takes Opposing Fan’s Drink

Why run all the way to the bench when there is a perfectly good water bottle right in front of you?  After chasing down a loose ball out of bounds during Tuesday’s game at Indiana, Boston’s lovable rascal Paul Pierce decided to take a swig out of this Pacer fan’s water bottle.  Though understandably surprised, she seemed to be a good sport and laugh the incident off.  Good times had by all.

Unfortunately, she did miss an opportunity to make the moment even more humorous and get back on camera.  She could have feigned disgust or – even better – exaggerated wiping off the mouth of the bottle after Pierce had drank out of it (ewww – he’s a Celtic!).

Our verdict?  Pierce’s theft isn’t nearly as adorable as the crown jewel of athlete-refreshment thefts - Don Mattingly swiping a handful of popcorn from a distracted young fan.

Even years later – Aww, how cute.
