Is NBC’s Sunday Night Football Intro With Faith Hill The “Worst Intro In The History Of Television?”

Its the same reason I don’t watch pregame shows. I don’t really care its all meaningless filler til the game starts 

I still don’t understand why they took Joan Jett’s fifth or sixth most recognizable song and then literally did a song parody with it. 

Faith Hill is an upgrade over Pink who sang it the first season, so I will give props for that.

They got John Williams – JOHN WILLIAMS! – to make a theme, and then basically shove that perfectly serviceable and recognizable theme aside to use chords from the intro song.

I don’t have an issue with the graphics of the intro.  ESPN’s done a much, much worse job with Monday Night Football’s intro.  “Let’s see how many musicians we can squeeze into this, combined with paint cannons and flying spaceship helmets!”

Faith Hill is nice to look at, if you have your TV on MUTE.  I hate country.  They should have let Joan Jett redo the song, again.

They should let Godsmack come up with an opening, something as hard hitting as the NFL itself.  Maybe a remake of “The Enemy”.

It’s a little over-dramatic.  I can think of much worse things, like listening to some of the idiot broadcasters and color analysts out there.  At least we only have to listen to Faith Hill for a couple of minutes, as opposed to three HOURS with the moronic announcers!

Godsmack – an interesting suggestion. I don’t know if the NBC suits would be cool with playing “Crying Like A Bitch” before their highest-rated show, though.

those haters should realize this promo is from the network.they chose the song and Faith for the 5th year. they feel she brings the audience.I love anything she does and I hate football but I watch it to see her.

Nothing against Faith Hill, but the song is way, way too long.  You know there’s a problem when Saturday Night Live is doing a sketch about it.  Check it out from an episode last year, with Jane Lynch pretending to be Faith Hill:

The only thing that sucks is this Article! Faith Rocks the song…hence her 5th year straight of doing this. Not only that but she is also a football fan and not just some celeb.

I can’t stand the open..start to finish. Looks like graphics 101 photoshop. And the black latex? Not a good look for her. Country chick, looking goth, singing rock then add bad graphics and you have a disaster.  They can do sooo much better.

Seems noone really has watched the video very closely!  at 59 sec you can tell those are not Faith Hills legs!  It is really apparent at 124 sec of video when she is crossing her legs and they disappear before your very eyes!!!!!!  Come on Man !!!!

II love the intro, how does it not work?? She sings well, is hot, and looks great. I think youre just looking for anything to complain about.

it is all FAKE, they made her an AVITAR…It looks rediculous. I had to point out to my husband that she is a fake and not a person in front of a green screne. They could have done better.

Faith Hill is awesome. It would make more sense if she were watching the game in a pair of jeans on the couch though. And the song doesn’t fit for a football theme but at least it’s not rap. They need to use a Black Sabbath type sound. That fits perfect.

I’ve come to the conclusion  that NBC does not give a rat’s ass about  how fans celebrate during the games. To see fans celebrate touchdowns, sacks, interceptions, turnovers, etc; is the reason why many of us love football, we love to see the 12th man scream their lungs out for their team or see the wave of white or yellow “terrible” towels being waved by the fans. We love to see the fan dressed up as a saint, a hog, a fireman, a cheesehead, a viking; well, you get the idea. The fact that NBC  never shows a glimpse of how fans celebrate really gets me upset, ex: during the final sunday night game of the regular season, Giants fans were given white flags to wave in support for their team, not once did I see a glimpse of the fans waving those flags, the same happened today with the Texans vs Bengals game as well as the Saints vs Lions. In contrary, I have never seen FOX NFL SUNDAY show this type of negligence towards the fan, when you see a game on FOX, they put alot of focus on the fan, they even provide a fan cam and at times even take their cameras to the tailgate parties. This is why I hate NBC Sunday Night Football, and quite frankly, I am disgusted that this network will be showing this year’s Super Bowl.

Of course we all have a few retarded FB friends – who think it is ok because she is hot. These dudes somehow get off looking at her and therefore can dismiss the atrociousness of this song. We can only hope that she makes an Obama/ Hitler reference.

Whoever thinks that this intro isnt the hottest intro NFL or NBC has put together either dosent love women or football or both… You gotta be out of your “Rabbit Ass Mind” to tell me that Faith Hill isnt SMOKIN’ in this intro for Sunday Night Football!! NBC’s new RAP Star NFL Football Show may drive Fans to Soccer. Some guy in a throne raping is not football, it’s Hollywood Glitter at it’s worst.

Or they realize its a really poorly written song and cheesy. It sounds like a total joke and was an attempt at capturing what Hank had with Monday night football. I mean, thankfully it’s over fast so it’s not that big of a deal. But it’s written by someone who was forced to do something they have no passion to do but have to because of an obligation…
