Here’s The Commercial Nike Cooked Up To Honor LeBron’s First Title

LeBron James said it himself last night after winning his first title: “About damn time.” So it only makes sense, now that’s he’s reached the mountaintop, that Nike’s “Congrats, guy we pay a crapload of money to endorse our products” ad pays homage to the journey getting there:

Pretty cool – the ring and the ad. One thing: unless I missed something, it never explicitly says where the jeweler was from. I’d thought at the beginning he was a Cavs fan from the area – but then it wouldn’t make much sense that he’d still be such a LeBron fanatic post-Decision, so I guess this guy was just a random huge LeBron fan. And it’s interesting to be reminded now of just how long LeBron’s been in the spotlight. How many people like that wind up actually reaching their potential without totally flaming out somewhere along the way? He’s the exception – for better and worse, a pretty damn captivating one.

[Ball Don't Lie]

I assume the Ringmaster actually represents Nike waiting and anticipating LBJ’s first win.  I love the switch back and forth between the jeweler and the Lebron clips during his journey… Ringmaster/Nike loses grip on the ring and LBJ loses grip on the ball.  LBJ blows the playoffs and Ringmaster/NIke sits back and sighs but still waits patiently.  LBJ goes to the Heat and jeweler applies heat and final touches to the ring.  Then after the win, the nodding ackowledgement between the two.  They both knew it was going to happen.

    BRILLIANT AD!
