The Office Has A Miami Heat Moment

Other viewing obligations prevented us from our customary Thursday night TV schedule last night. Obviously, hard to complain about that when the alternative was an event like Game 6, but we did miss out (well, until we watch them recorded later, and until then DON’T YOU DARE SPOIL WHITNEY FOR ME OR I WILL BE SO PISSED YOU GUYS) on some Halloween-related sports tie-ins. Most notably, courtesy of The Office, there was the one you see below:

While the “sitcoms are the last to the pop-cultural-phenomenon joke-making party” theory previously advanced by SportsGrid senior editor Dan Fogarty seems to come into play here (since everyone in the world has made Heat jokes by now)…this isn’t a bad gag. It’s easy to pile on Chris Bosh, sure, but done artfully, it can still work. And in the absence of an actual NBA, we’re just waiting for Skip Bayless to start debating the merits of Darryl vs. Kevin.
