Queensbridge! Ron Artest Buzzer Beater Leads Lakers To Victory
For residents of the Queens’ projects “Queensbridge” last night’s highlight of the Lakers victory over the Suns was not the last shot. It was probably the post game interview where they saw their favorite son (sorry Nas) get some broadcasting love from TNT courtside analyst Craig Sager. Ron Artest‘s last second lay-up of a Kobe Bryant airball not only won the game, but atoned for some bad decisions earlier in the game.
Need evidence that lots of folks were paying attention to the post-game interview? “Queensbridge” is now a trending topic on Google Trends, presumptively due to millions of Americans simultaneously saying “huh?” For those unfamiliar with the legendary projects, Queensbridge is the largest housing project in America and exists in Long Island City, in the shadows of the Queens’ side of the 59th Street bridge. Apart from Artest, Queensbridge is also a hip hop hotbed, having produced rapping legends Marley Marl, Nas and Roxanne Shante.
