So Apparently Ryan Lochte’s Mom Doesn’t Know All About Her Son’s Sex Life?

Remember when Ryan Lochte’s mom was babbling about her son’s active women-recycling ways in the bedroom? Well, as Yahoo! suggested, it turns out she didn’t mean “one-night stands” when she said “one-night stands.”

Mrs. Lochte and Ryan spoke with USA Today on Friday and cleared things up.

They said they both knew she meant dates, not hookups.

Mrs. Lochte also cleared her name successfully from the crazy, promiscuity-encouraging mother category:

What kind of mom is going to say that (about her son having one-night stands)? Especially being a mom and having two daughters.

Ryan, unsurprisingly, wasn’t too bothered by the whole thing. But he did offer a parting shot to mom.

“I knew how the media was going to take it, and I knew what my mom really meant,” Ryan said. “She’s new to the whole media (experience), so she didn’t really understand that they were going to twist it and make it bad.

“She definitely was like, ‘Why would they do that?’ She is so oblivious to everything.”

That’s probably fair. Saying that your son — the current “it” athlete of the Olympics — has tons of one-night stands, is probably going to make its way to the blogosphere. An innocent mistake, yes, but one that entertained millions for a day. So for that, Ike Lochte, we thank you sincerely. And it’s good to hear you don’t actually go talking about your son’s sex life to media outlets.

And for the masses, realize all this means is that his mother wasn’t talking about her son’s one-night stands. It’s not like this means the dude doesn’t have loads of sex — with the lights on, of course.
