An Attempt To Troll A LeBron-Appreciating Heat Fan With Skip Bayless Tweets

If you’ve been reading Heat-related posts on our site recently, there’s a chance you’ve come across the name “James Plafke.” In addition to being the editor of our sibling site Geekosystem, James is a huge Heat fan whose reactions to Chris Bosh’s injury and the Heat’s Game 4 performance against the Pacers were featured here… and he can’t stand when LeBron James doesn’t get his due for being the best player in basketball.

And of course, the media member most infamous for not giving LeBron his due is Skip Bayless. Normally, we don’t pay a whole lot of attention to him because First Take is the worst in general, but in his perpetual, calculated underestimation of LeBron, we saw an opportunity: troll the Heat fan in our midst. The mission today: get angry reactions to Bayless tweets from James. The timing was especially opportune since Bayless favorite Wade went off for 41 points last night. Below, a series of Gchats, with typos corrected and links added when applicable.

me: In G6 the one guy who’ll have a “chip” on his shoulder is the one w/ a championship, the one w/ cut over his eye. This is Batman’s Revenge.
James: He’s talking about Haslem, right? I bet he’s talking about Haslem. He has a cut over his eye that required stitches, and was suspended for Game 6, which is the only reason why anyone on the Heat would have a chip on their shoulder [after] a game where they won by 32 points.
Haslem is Batman.
me: Even w/ little paint presence – no Bosh, Haslem, Pittman – I’m riding w/ Heat tonite. LeBron for 3 quarters, Wade to close. Justice prevails
James: It’s funny how Skip was, surprise, trying to detract from LeBron, but the exact opposite thing happened, where Wade went nuts through the first 3, but then LeBron scored, what was it, the last 7 points for the Heat in the 4th?
me: it was something like that (ed. note: Wade scored the Heat’s final two points on free throws, but prior to that, LeBron scored six straight points to, for all intents and purposes, salt the game away)
on a similar note, after the first half:
2nd half, LeBron has to at least be Robin if Heat are to avoid G7. Only 1 reb as Heat outboarded 20-10. Can’t expect another 26 from Batman.
James: Yeah, I mean, considering LeBron went nuts after the 2nd half in the past 2 games they won, it’d make sense that Skip would comment on his performance before the 2nd half.
me: after the game:
And Dwyane Tyrone Wade said, “Enough!” 17 of 25. 10 rebounds. 41 points. Batman’s Revenge on unpunished Psycho T.
Now, amazingly, the Heat’s title hopes come down to the health of … Chris Bosh. A season ago, never would have imagined saying that.
I’m not sure DWade has ever played five straight better playoff halves, even when he carried Shaq to a ring the way he might carry LeBron.
James: What was it revenge for?! Was it revenge for the Heat beating the Pacers by 32 points the previous game? I bet Dwyane was super unhappy about his 32 point victory and needed to take out some revenge.
Also, didn’t Haslem try to literally murder Psycho T? Murder seems like a harsher punishment than a one game suspension.
I guess Wade’s 28 or 30 whatever points (ed. note: 30) carried LeBron’s 40-18-9 that game.
I also guess LeBron’s 28-7-6 [in Game 6] was pretty shit. It seems like LeBron just doesn’t care. He doesn’t get it, man. Why isn’t he putting up 40-20-10s every night? He’s a choker.

So… trolling accomplished? Congrats, Skip, we guess. James also went on to call Skip “the worst” multiple times after the above Gchat session ended, but judging by the results of our little experiment, it looks like Skip accomplishes what he sets out to do, for better or worse. Or the worst.
