We’re Thankful For This High School Softball Coach’s Bullshit And Laziness

This excerpt from a news story apparently detailing the recently-completed softball season of Rayne High in Louisiana was already good before you get to the end. There were typos – a paragraph ending in “Outfielder Sidney Fontenot,” specifically. There was a crazy name – “Cecily Schexnyder” – which was, against all odds, apparently not a typo. There was weird phrasing – “stole six out of six bases.” It made for a very odd, yet enjoyable, read. And then… that last paragraph.

…and what began as a relatively harmless string of errors and weirdness ended a masterpiece. If whoever wrote this monument to everyday frustration (and who probably did not intend for it to wind up in the final, in-print paper) winds up losing their job over this, they will exit a legend. We hope it doesn’t come to that, though. Think of the joy they brought so many people. Paying for that with your job? Now that would be bullshit.
