A Brief Update On That Fan At Euro 2012 Who Tried To Distract Italy With His Penis

You might remember that when Italy beat England on penalty kicks at Euro 2012 over the weekend, one English fan tried to distract Italy on the winning shot by pulling down his pants (warning: NSFW link). Of course, it didn’t work, but as we noted, he’d immediately become “one of the most famous fans of Euro 2012.”

And if there was any doubt about that, allow UK tabloid The Sun to put that to rest: they tracked the fan down and actually did a little feature on him. His name is Tim O’Leary, he’s 35 years old – and, The Sun will have you know, he’s “a millionaire businessman.” Taking your schlong out at soccer/football matches: it’s not just for the 99%! Said O’Leary:

“I was just trying to do my bit.”

Or your bits were trying to do their bit, are we right, folks?!?! And doing his bit (which he said was spur-of-the-moment) wasn’t easy: he was actually sitting on the other side of the stadium, and had to sprint to make it in place for Italy’s kick. Hey, whatever it takes for a good photo op. And also, O’Leary’s married. What did his wife think of the stunt? “She finds it very, very funny,” he reported. Either wishful thinking on O’Leary’s part, or a forgiving wife: and if she’s fine with it, as far as we’re concerned, that’s all the more reason for O’Leary to step up his flashing game for the World Cup in two years.
