UK Tabloids Not Taking Their Team’s World Cup Tie With America Very Well

The British media, as we know, is traditionally quick to absolutely lose their minds when their football team doesn’t perform up to par.

A 1-1 tie with America, apparently, is not up to par. Here now is a roundup of our favorite headlines.

This one, from UK People, makes us feel kind of bad for UK goalkeeper Robert Green. Almost.

So how did everyone’s favorite American tabloid, The New York Post, react to the tie? With balls to the walls excitement, of course.

His gaffe notwithstanding, I thought Green was a real stand-up guy afterward. He faced the press, took responsibility for the goal, and spoke in measured tones. It’s impossible to ask the British press to ‘lay off.’ That’s not their style. But this guy will probably pitch a shutout the next game and put yesterday behind him.
