Vancouverites Pile Into Liquor Stores Before Game 7 Of The Stanley Cup Finals
Tonight, the Vancouver Canucks and Boston Bruins square off in a Game 7 showdown for the Stanley Cup. The atmosphere in Vancouver is going to be boisterous, to say the very least. That would be true no matter what – the Canucks have been in the NHL for four decades without taking home the game’s top prize, and in Canada, they like hockey a little bit, so it’s pretty much a perfect storm of hockey goodness.
But that alone isn’t enough for Canucks fans, who are going the extra mile to attain maximum Cup craziness. The Seattle Times’ Danny O’Neil tweeted a picture of a scene outside a Vancouver liquor store. This is how it looked:
O’Neil added that the line was “at least 50 people deep.” We’re not sure whether we desperately wish we were in Vancouver for the game tonight, or are relieved we won’t be. Win or lose (but especially win), it’s going to be a raucous scene…no doubt thanks in part to those people you see above.
