Video: Jo-Wilfried Tsonga Stuns Roger Federer At Wimbledon

Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga has some of the most electrifying talent in tennis, and when he puts it all together, he is mesmerizing to watch. Today, after dropping two sets to Roger Federer, Tsonga put it all together. With a combination of powerful serves and crushing forehands, Tsonga bludgeoned the best ever, broke his will, and reached the Wimbledon semifinals for the first time with a show-stopping 3-6, 6-7 (3), 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 win.

Early on, Federer looked unbeatable – Tsonga, while he’d had a nice run, appeared headed for a quick exit at the hands of the master. But then, Tsonga started using an obscure tennis technique known as “blasting the absolute crap out of the ball,” and his power was too much for Federer to match.

Tsonga was hitting so hard it was impossible not to be energized just watching him, and after a a couple laserlike winners during one of his breaks of Federer, I practically sprinted out of this office to the nearest tennis court just so I could pretend to be able to do what Tsonga was doing. He now faces Novak Djokovic in the semis – no easy task, but boy, Tsonga sure is playing well.

We won’t miss that one…and thanks to the video below, you won’t miss match point of this one. I’m a Federer fan, too, so it’s always a little sad to see him lose, but Tsonga fully earned this moment. And that smile.
