WATCH: James Blake Calls ESPN Announcer An “Ass” On Live TV

James Blake called ESPN Announcer and former tennis player Pam Shriver an “ass” during his loss at Wimbledon today to Robin Haase.

Blake’s outburst came after he was distracted by Shriver’s voice, and the two shared a snappy back-and-forth, with Blake yelling from the court at Shriver, and Shriver responding from up in the ESPN broadcast booth.

It’s a universally-known rule that you keep your voice down when watching a tennis match, especially one at Wimbledon. Apparently, Shriver was talking too loudly for Blake’s liking, and the American-born player let her know it by shouting, “Amazing you used to play tennis. I can still hear you.”

Shriver was immediately asked by a colleague, on-air, what happened. She responded: “James just yelled at me. I’m way above the court, but evidently he can hear me. He’s got rabbit ears.”

Oh, snap! The comment was spoken just loud enough for Blake to hear, and he shot back with, “You have to be an ass about it, too, and act like I’m at fault?”

So who is at fault? The chatty announcer, or the fading tennis star? You be the judge:
