Ron Artest Shows Up In Pajama Pants To Jimmy Kimmel Live

The Los Angeles Lakers, newly minted NBA champions that they are, stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live last night to bask in their victory. They also had a chance to laugh at the expense of Crazy Ron Artest, who took it upon himself to show up wearing pajama pants and a bluetooth earpiece.

Kobe Bryant, Derek Fisher, Artest, Sasha Vujacic, Shannon Brown, Josh Powell, and DJ Mbenga were the Lakers present (this offered the first head-scratcher of the night. Why were the reserves there? When the Yankees did Letterman after their World Series win, Melky Cabrera and Brett Gardner weren’t sitting on stools behind Jeter, Posada and Pettite).

The segment, all told, was entertaining, and even a bit enlightening. As I alluded to before, Artest showed up looking like he just woke up, ordered a pizza, then realized he had to be on Jimmy Kimmel in five minutes (Kobe, on the other hand, looked like he had just won some kind of futuristic motorcycle race).

This would be impossible, however, seeing as how Artest told Kimmel he hadn’t slept since the Lakers won the championship the night before. These pictures from TMZ would corroborate that story.

Artest is fast approaching Mike Tyson levels of eccentricity, albeit in a much less menacing way. Among the things he told Kimmel: his main motivation was to not let Kobe down, he no longer needs a therapist because the Lakers won the title, and he met Bryant in a shower.
