Watch The Opening Ceremony From A Performer’s Hidden Camera And Feel Like You Were There

The Opening Ceremony for the London 2012 Olympics was fantastic. And fortunately for us, one of the onstage performers decided to build a hidden camera into her costume and post the footage to YouTube for all to see.

Here’s the performer’s YouTube description of the video:

This is footage taken from a hidden camera that I built into my costume (almost invisible to the naked eye) to give a performer’s perspective during the London 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony.

The footage you see is taken from the Pandemonium Section (Industrial Revolution) just after 9pm GMT Friday 27th July 2012.

I want to give everyone a taste of what it was like to be involved in such an amazing experience!

If the International Olympic Committee, or Danny Boyle ask me to take this down then I will fully oblige. The Olympics is for everyone and I hope showing my point of view would be appreciated by those who weren’t quite as fortunate as myself to actually perform in this once in a lifetime experience.

It’s spellbinding, and is the next best thing to actually being onstage, performing yourself. I strongly encourage you to watch the whole 17-minute video. However, if you understandably have less time on your hands than we do, fast-forward to around the 10:00 mark to watch the most powerful part. You won’t regret it.

Cross your fingers this doesn’t get taken down.

Finally, if you’d like to see the video side-by-side with the normal view, check out this page, via helpful reddit user glawton.
