British Tabloid Uncovers Second Woman In British Soccer Threesome

It’s been a bumpy week, to say the least, for Wayne Rooney. He did manage to shake his goalscoring slump for England in the win against Switzerland on Monday, but then there was something about a sex scandal.

Never to be outdone on the muckraking trail, The Daily Mail has been hard at work digging around all sides of the Rooney affair.

Daily Mail reporter Sara Nathan was able to uncover the second woman involved in the infamous threesome (not uncover like Rooney did, but you know what we mean) as 23-year-old Helen Wood, who joined Jennifer Thompson and Rooney in a hotel in Manchester. Nathan was even able to track down the two prostitutes’ madam, identified only as “Laura”.

Meanwhile, Metro UK reported that Thompson’s estranged parents issued a public apology to Rooney’s wife, Coleen, over their daughter’s indiscretions. Hamish and Dana Thompson told the paper:

This may sound somewhat hollow, but my wife and I would never condone what has or may have happened. We had absolutely no idea about any of the allegations and claims that have been made.

Finally, The Mail dug up some dirt with Thompson’s former classmates at Lord’s Independent School in Bolton. The article revealed close ties between Thompson and Amy Leigh Barnes, a classmate known as a partner-for-hire with footballers who was murdered a year ago by her soccer-coach boyfriend. Both entered the “WAG-wannabe” lifestyle around the same time, and eventually broke their friendship over competition over who was able to score the highest-profile and most expensive marks.

Hard to believe though it may be, we’re almost running out of words to describe unfaithful English footballers. We’re willing to bet though that if Rooney starts scoring at the historic pace he did last season, the public’s attention in this sordid affair will wane.
