Man’s Red Sox Forearm Tattoo Gets In The Way Of Committing Perfect Crime

I have to wonder if this guy has ever seen a heist movie before, because covering up any visible identifying marks is Bank Robbery 101. And this dude didn’t even have a face tattoo or something similarly difficult to cover up — he could have dealt with this by wearing long sleeves!

And just in case the bank employees were too afraid to pay close attention to the obvious tattoo on the man’s arm, he wore a corresponding Boston Red Sox baseball cap in order to really drive the point home. He may as well have tattooed “I am a Red Sox fan and a felon” underneath it. The Sun-Chronicle reports:

“The man passed a note to the teller at Mansfield Bank on West Main Street near Norton Middle School, demanding money and indicating he had a weapon, police said. He also gave the teller a plastic bag for the money. No weapon was shown, police said.

“This is a robbery, I have a weapon, No Dye packs,” the suspect said, according to information published on the law enforcement websites Rhode Island Most Wanted and Mass Most Wanted.

The suspect demanded the note back, then fled on foot with an undetermined amount of cash without showing a weapon, police said.”

Well, I hope he enjoyed himself and spent the cash right away, because it sounds like I, though my police experience is limited to a voracious appetite for “Law and Order: SVU” reruns, could spend a day tooling around the greater Rhode Island area and nail this guy.
