Ben Revere Made The Best Almost-Catch Of The MLB Season Thus Far

Minnesota Twins outfielder Ben Revere chased a foul ball in the 5th inning of last night’s game against the Oakland Athletics that was quickly swerving foul. As he approached the 10-foot high wall, he propelled himself into the air by kick-jumping off the wall. He then proceeded to regain his balance by latching on to the top of the wall with both hands, eventually freeing up his glove to make the play.
Unfortunately, this ridiculous display of athleticism forced him to take his eye off the ball for a split second. Although he was able to spot the ball once more, his glove hand was the only thing holding him up. So he opened his glove and the ball just bounced off the heel harmlessly into the stands.
If he makes the play, it’s the catch of the year, plain and simple.
