Last Night, A Naked Man Invaded The Busch Stadium Field

Last fall, during the playoffs, squirrels kept running onto the field at Busch Stadium in St. Louis. Fans quickly embraced the squirrel’s recurring appearances: it became known as the Rally Squirrel, and it turned into such a mini-phenomenon that it made it onto a player’s baseball card… and even the Cardinals’ World Series rings. It was funny, it eased the tension of the playoffs, and it was kind of adorable, watching the little guy run all over the place.

Well, last night, once again, a non-player ran on the field at Busch Stadium during the game (between innings, though). This one, though, wasn’t cute – this one was a streaker. The streaker (name: Collin Grundstrom), apparently, had “Hakuna matata” tattooed on his side. And as documented by the many, many videos taken of him, the guy really went for it (NSFW):

Contrary to his tattoo, however, Grundstrom must have had some worries, since he reportedly told police he only ran onto the field after losing a bet. Still, to actually do that takes… something. Like the influence of alcohol, which Grundstrom appeared to have been consuming prior to the incident, according to Joe Walsh, the Cardinals’ director of security. (No word on whether life’s been good to Walsh so far.)
